Maqui Berry – Better Than Acai Berry?

As Maqui Berry is still a fairly undiscovered “super food” the health benefits of Maqui Berry are not easy to find.

Maqui Berries can be found in Patagonia within South America, it is found more commonly in southern Chile. These little berries have been used for centuries by the native Mapuche Indians, they had found that the Maqui Berry provided incredible health benefits and helped them to maintain their good health.  It is also reported that this berry helped the Mapuche Indians slow down the aging process.

It is commonly known that the reason Acai Berries are so popular is because they are full of anthocyanins and antioxidants that provide many different benefits. Maqui Berry is better than Acai Berries because they contain so much more antioxidants, this meaning they are more effective.

Antioxidants are important as they help to prevent the body from absorbing poisons and toxins from harmful things such as smoke, pollution and an unhealthy diet. Not only this but they do also help to detoxify the body, this helping to remove all bad toxins and poisons from the body that has been stored throughout the years.

Maqui Berries do in fact have double the ORAC value than Acai Berries. The ORAC value allows you to measure the amount of antioxidant capacities of different foods. As you now know Maqui Berry has double the amount of Acai but it does also have 3-4 times more than pomegranates and blueberries!

It is really incredible that this little berry has so many health benefits; they can help to detoxify the body and speed your metabolism up. This will ultimately aid in weight loss and allow your body to burn an increased amount of fat. They have also been reported to help make your skin look younger, increase your energy levels, improvement of general health and slow down the aging process
